GTS Motorsport rebrands as Grove, attracting investment from Prova

GTS Motorsport, one of the UK’s longest serving race teams, has rebranded as Grove Motorsport, moved to groundbreaking new premises and attracted equity investment from Prova. Behind the move is motorsport entrepreneur and racer, Jim Morris.

Projects run by the team include an Austin A40 in the HRDC / Motor Racing Legends Top Hat pre ’66 touring car series and the iconic Morris Vulcan VW Golf that competes regularly at the Goodwood Members Meeting. In addition, the team has secured an entry to this year’s Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, presented by Gran Turismo, for a front wheel drive record attempt in a Golf built by the team following significant input from renowned aerodynamicist, John Iley.

Jim Morris, founder of Grove Motorsport, commented: “I’m thrilled Richard and Prova have joined us as we seek to take Grove forward as a leading motorsport preparation business. We are determined to build a highly agile restoration and preparation operation that delivers on attention to detail and a desire for the right results, while enjoying the journey in the sport we all love.

“Richard and I go back a long way, to the days when our fathers were competing in Debenhams Escorts and John Maguire Racing-run VWs, before we both started on our own journeys at kart circuits up and down the country together. That bond, hewn from endeavour, runs deep.”

Richard Postins, of Prova Investments, added: “There is a real passion for motorsport at Prova, learned from decades of racing – and delivering PR programmes – across UK, European and World Championship race and rally paddocks, and we are thrilled to be involved in the growth of Grove.

“Jim has built a unique stable of successful motorsport businesses including Lifeline, Old Hall and Trident Racing Supplies, so it is a privilege to be involved in the next chapter. We are committed to investing in future mobility stars of tomorrow and Grove is exactly that.”
