Prova celebrates the UK’s best motoring business journalists at the 2025 Guild Awards

Leading future mobility communications consultancy Prova is proudly sponsoring the Business Writer of the Year category at the 2025 Guild of Motoring Writers Awards. Having supported the prize since its inauguration in 2009, this year marks the seventeenth annual recognition of the Guild’s top business journalists.

With deep automotive and motorsport ties, Prova represents numerous businesses operating at the forefront of the sector. The consultancy’s sponsorship of the award reflects its commitment to championing exceptional journalism and celebrating disruptive thinking. Past winners include highly regarded names from across automotive journalism, including last year’s winner Richard Aucock, director of Motoring Research and editor of Auto Market Insight.

Each year sees a winner picked and two journalists highly commended, with their latest work assessed by a panel of expert judges. This year’s finalists include Aimée Turner, deputy editor of AM Magazine; BBC international business correspondent Theo Leggett; and freelancer Jonathan Manning, who contributes to several titles including the Financial Times and Fleet Europe.

For the Business Writer of the Year category, judges are looking for clarity of writing and well-researched articles that help readers to understand the commercial complexities of the UK automotive industry from a retail, fleet or manufacturing perspective. Dozens of entries were received for the 2025 Awards, with the judges impressed by the depth and breadth of the submissions.

Prova founder Richard Postins commented: “The Guild Awards are a highlight of the year for us and many within the industry. It will be fantastic to catch up with the incredibly talented journalists, press officers and senior OEM representatives at the event. The quality of journalism from all the entrants is always of an exceptionally high standard  and this year’s no different. Very best of luck to Aimée, Theo and Jonathan.”

The Guild of Motoring Writers Awards 2025 will take place at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, on the evening of Thursday 4 December. More information on the awards can be found at www.gomw.co.uk/awards.
