Coventry University’s National Transport Design Centre (NTDC) was developed to strengthen ties between post-graduate research and UK manufacturing. Prova was brought on board to ensure it launched with a splash.

The Challenge.

To attract more than 200 industry influencers, media and stakeholders to a high-profile launch event to celebrate the investment into the NTDC.

Our Approach.

We contacted potential attendees via post, email and over the phone to pique their interest. We created thought-leading content and news pieces to preview the event, as well as in-depth industry articles and case studies to keep the coverage coming after the launch.

The Results.

More than 200 industry leaders attended from across the automotive, rail, marine and aerospace industries, as well as representatives from trade and national media outlets. And we even kick-started new commercial relationships for some of the attendees!

We kicked off the campaign by developing a target list of the movers and shakers in transport design that we wanted to attract to the launch event. Our in-house studio created email and print invitations and then we hit the phones.

To add a touch of glamour to the event, we coordinated the attendance of supermodel and petrol-head Jodie Kidd, who provided guests with a warm welcome. We worked closely with Jaguar Land Rover’s press team to support Ian Callum’s keynote address.

We developed a targeted news announcement to launch the centre, alongside sector-specific case studies on Coventry University projects and thought leadership articles around the future of transport design. Key national and trade media were invited to the event to conduct exclusive interviews.

On the day of the launch, we delivered a comprehensive event support service, including delegate registration, media management and direction of film and photography. And we made sure that all of the VIP guests were kept fed and watered!

Following the launch event, we received confirmation that a number of attendees had entered into commercial partnership conversations. A massive result for the launch of a centre developed to inspire UK business growth.
