By Tom on work experience
When my last day as a university student crept up on me, I felt a very large sense of dread not knowing what I was going to do next. It was the first time in my life when I didn’t have a plan in place and, as anyone who knows me well will tell you, I don’t like not knowing what is going to happen next…
And that’s where Prova stepped in. There was an opportunity for a work experience position to aid students pushing their inexperienced foot through the door. So, a few emails and one relaxed interview later, I was starting my first day at Prova.
The team was a great help on my first day, getting me settled in and ensuring I felt relaxed. However, I did get a little bit of friendly grilling from about my music taste… although I am slowly managing to introduce Prova to the world of Kiss FM and they’ll be R&B fanatics in no time!
After the introductions were over, it was time to dive straight in to the life of a PR agency. I have attended a photo shoot for one of Prova’s clients – the final selection of photographs looked great, but came with some minor bumps in the road, including a quick brainstorm idea and last minute dash to a obtain a much-needed prop.
However, it hasn’t all been photo shoots; I have also been involved in research for a variety of clients in motorsport and environmental technologies.
From my first week working at Prova, I have come to realise that they are a friendly bunch of people and I have truly felt welcomed as a valued member of the team. The next month will be a great experience for me and I will hopefully have a lot more to blog about.
