Another top year for Guild of Motoring Writers Awards entries

In the company of dignitaries including HRH Prince Michael of Kent and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason (Guild President), Prova’s head of automotive, St John White, was delighted to present the Guild of Motoring Writers Prova PR Business Writer of the Year accolade to John Maslen.

Maslen, who was highly commended in the same category in 2013, received the award for his work with Bauer Media and Sewells, specifically focused on the fleet sector.

The judges commented: “John is able to manage the tricky job of taking what can be complex or niche data and combine this with access to key industry figures and a wealth of sector information in order to develop compelling, engaging and accessible business stories. A highly deserved win.”

Blackball Media’s James Baggott was also recognised in the category, with judges praising his “focus on the people” within the industry, “willingness to provoke debate” and “personality-driven” writing style.

A total of 27 awards were presented on the night, which also saw the 70th anniversary celebrations for the Guild of Motoring Writers. For a full list of the winners, please visit the Guild of Motoring Writers website.
